New requirement to pay the MRV fee prior to scheduling an appointment (April, 2012)
Beginning April 30th, 2012, you must pay the MRV fee at Banco Provincial before you can proceed to schedule an appointment. Therefore, prior to making an appointment you will need to fill out the DS-160 visa application (Department of State's Consular Electronic Application Center website.) and print the confirmation page. Then, with the confirmation page in hand, proceed to any branch of Banco Provincial to pay the visa fee. Banco Provincial will print a receipt on your confirmation page as proof of payment. Finally, when you make an appointment, whether via phone or on-line, you will need to provide the Transaction Confirmation number to demonstrate that you have paid the MRV fee. This Transaction Confirmation number is located on the receipt that was printed on your confirmation page. Please see below for a sample of the format of the receipt that is printed on your confirmation page and how to locate this confirmation number. This unique 9-digit number is located in two places on the receipt – top center and middle right.
Important: This new requirement does NOT affect individuals who have already made an appointment prior to April 30. Applicants who already made an appointment prior to April 30 simply need to pay the corresponding MRV fee prior to the day of your scheduled appointment.
