Expedited appointments can be granted to individuals who are under the following circumstances:

• In need to receive or continue urgent medical treatment in the U.S. 
• In need to visit a relative who is very ill.
• To attend the funeral of a relative.
• Students who will start classes.
• Urgent business trips.
• Other time sensitive or urgent travel.

Steps to request an expedited appointment:

1. Make an appointment with the Consular Information Call Center.
2. Request the expedited appointment by filling the online form.
